Ok if this is the wrong part of the forum to start a thread like this then I apologise. Its also like a way of venting this as it is all we talk about at work currently and we are exhausted covering for this problem manager.

I work for BB about 3 years now, sometimes feels longer, I am a csr with some ambition but not that much effort in going up the ladder. I hate my job some days and others I like it, I love the free rentals and the bullshitting about movies, the staff are ok the customers are a mix of pikey and posh.

The store I work at is a re-balance store looks nice and has a gamestation concession, some staff rock others are just loud and over bearing. But hey lots of game info.

Recently we have had a lot of staff departures and last night I was privvy to some info that makes me wonder what the f**k my manager is doing!

Two full timers resigned and a third signed himself off sick a fourth and this is the important bit our new ASM walked out!!!
Now the reason this is the important bit is that most of us staff want the guy back but we dont know how to do it, he would come back but on certain conditions all of which are reasonable but is so disgusted with the way he was treated I dont think he will do anything about coming back and we will instead loose him to the competition, so how do we do it!

Oh and my manager is about to get the company embroiled in a rather large dispute over the fact that he agreed to have another member of staff take the fall for some missing money, the member of staff namely the guy who walked taped him.....

My manager allows some staff to get thier pot deleivered to the store and when pulled on it didnt deny it had happened before but said it was best not to draw attention to it.

My manager when money was missing (not checked in from change collection and was found safely in the banks hands) to save his own neck because he was scared they would fire him as money had walked before a lot of money he agreed to let the new ASM take the fall as he would only receive a written warning.

My manager when receiving complaints about the other ASM who I will call Lucy suppressed them saying the time was not right and that the company wanted her out but were recruiting a replacement before they did!!!!

My manager when told who was causing the losses in the store through not red-tagging dvds ended up giving that csr more hours and didnt mention it once to her that she should be careful.

My manager lost us the best staff because he wouldnt listen to anyone and now we are under-staffed, and we have no-one new worth hiring applying, we are considered to be a major store but the manager is a fool, he also tells us that its not worth talking to our DM about any of the problems as mr jago spends most of his time drunk or getting there.

So what do we do, the new ASM is the third forced out of the store by a crap ASM who has been there for years and her accomplice a former ASM who got demoted for his attitude although he is still paid his ASM slary at an hourly rate. Both of these staff are hated but we try and tolerate them for the sake of our work environment. The SM knew about the hassle the new ASM was getting but did nothing. The thing is the new ASM left becuase of the managers in-action, the other two full timers left and sought other opportunities because they were sick and tired of nothing been done and the fourth staff member is off sick through stress and depression and a major factor in his condition......the way things are at work.

We were told by our SM that no matter who you complain to it will be him and the DM that deal with this matter... is this true or is there another route.

I like the job, sorry to say it but I would only be flipping burgers or packing boxes if not here so I want it to be as good as it can be.

Like we said with another SM was treating his ASM "too well" at the expense of the rest of the store....

"He's hitting that shit (or wants to)"

Those are strong strong allegations. And Im pretty sure H/O read this site. But I cant help but feel your complaints should have been made directly to your DM. There is also a number which you can ring the Duty Risk help line, its confidential and all calls are followed up. If head office do read this Id expect visits soon because you have hardly been subtle in your stores location

Speak to your Dm. the SM is just trying to scare you into not talking. if you made the points you have sais in writing to your DM then He/She would have no choice but to follow up on them, and your SM knows this. If the Dm found out that your SM was calling him a drunk you would find yourself with a new manager within 2 weeks!!!!!

Sounds like the SM was just SHIT and spread it to the rest of the team. Unfortunately a bad SM can fuck up a whole store.

But our SM says the DM will not do anything and I was told that if you complain the company can stop any promotions you might try to go for.

But our SM says the DM will not do anything

And you believed him??

He told you that specifically because he is trying to keep the DM from finding this stuff out.

And if the DM is that bad, HIS(or her) boss is going to want to know about it, and solve THAT problem, as well.

It's times like this where I feel fortunate to be at the store I have and have the staff I have. Sheesh.

I have a great staff, if only they would keep a manager here awhile. They keep transferring them out to other store, like mine is a pit stop. We are on number 5 in 10 months. My SL's 2 to 4 years, csr's 2 to 8 years.

We've had a lot of staff changes over the past few months, and I was included in that. I've been at BB for six months as of September 22. So...

SM: 9 years (with the company, about 2 years as the SM)
ASM: 3 years
Other SL: 15 years (I kid you not)
Me: 6 months
CSR: 4 months
CSR: 3 months
CSR: 2 months
CSR: 1 month.

But I love our staff now. Especially the other SL. Fifteen years with the company, and the reason she refuses to be a ASM or SM is because she claims to have a "social phobia" and fears the constant confrontation for asshole customers that comes with being an ASM or SM.

I couldn't stand working the same position for 15 years (wicked mistress wouldn't though :D)

She comes very-in-handy when we have the obnoxious customer who, despite the fact that we have their HISTORY on file, claim to have been an active customer for ten years.

I must've missed that one. What did she say about me? If she talked about the whole stalking thing then it's all bullshit. SHE is the one who stalks me.

Well, your name didn't come up, per se... tho she was there for the premiere of Jackass 2 ;)

She did this thing where this guy rode a skateboard into a plexiglass wall, and she had to try not to flinch.

Somehow, I have the feeling we can credit you with her ability to not flinch:D

I hear she uses tree branches as tampons... kind of surprising that a woman of her age hasn't gone menopausal yet :O.
