after my numerous negative customer experiences at blockbuster, i felt very fortunate to get a job as a mail carrier. i mean, short of reading other people's mail or throwing it in a ravine somewhere, what could a mail carrier possibly do to piss someone off?

but as luck would have it, i happened to be delivering a letter from blockbuster (presumably an overdue notice or something of the sort) to one woman, who happened to answer the door and accept the mail out of my hand. without even opening it, she started screaming at me "what the hell is this? i've returned everything! you tell your manager to fix this!" she obviously recognized me from my blockbuster days, so i told her, "i haven't worked at blockbuster in four months, i deliver mail now." she said, "well, tell your bosses i don't want any more of this mail, what's it for, anyway?" i say, "i don't know, that's between blockbuster and you, i'm not affiliated with them anymore." "well how do i get this straightened out?" "umm.. call blockbuster?"

one thing i won't miss about the big blue. i mean really, does she really think blockbuster sends its employees out to deliver overdue notices?

Lol, I had a blockbuster experience last night, too. A manager called me up asking me to cover a shift for them last night. I was like, "ummm, are you serious???". They then went into all the reasons why they couldn't work, (you know the scene, basically begging), and then I just broke out with, "you know I don't work there anymore."

Apparently they thought they were calling another manager of the same first name, and he dialed the wrong one on the cellphone. yeahhhhh. so glad i've yet to receive a phone call after hours from my new job. :)

One of the semi-new CSRs at my store asked if her friend who worked at Blockbuster two years ago could cover her shift. When I said no, she was like, "well, I know she can't clock-in and all, just do it under my numbers and then I'll pay her." Riiiiight because that's totally legal..
