The Blockbuster iPhone App

Is deadly accurate and timely when it comes to determining whether or not a store is specifically in stock or out of stock of an item. If you have an iPhone or iTouch, try it on something that was just rented out 5-10 minutes ago. It's very up to date.

This might not bode well for the douches who insist something is in stock and we have to tell them it's in Defect :(

The app should include a barcode for the person's account number.

They actually did defectives somewhat correctly. While you have a defective item in your inventory, it shows as checked out until you complete the TR to get rid of it completely.

we have a customer at my store who has all of his store cards stored on his iphone. He pulls the barcode up on his screen & we just scan the screen. It's true! This app already exists.

I wonder if something like that will catch on and then customers will realize that if they change just one of the numbers, there's a good chance they'll be able to rent on someone else's account without a problem.

The Iphone or Itouch app is called Cardstar.

Another app like that is called WalletZero.

I will have to admit, I thought it was more than slightly awesome, the first time a customer used it in a transaction with me. Almost makes you want to buy an Iphone. Almost.
