Book section
I don't know how many other people here read, but it would be nice to have a section to talk about books in general.

Anyone here ever read Ender's Game? I just finished that this morning. It was a swift and excellent read - lots of great dialog and one of the rare books that really put me in the mind of the main character.
I agree Lomi. I read too, so I think a book section would be awesome (as would a sports section). Chris owes a section since the Adult one disappeared.

The last book I read was The Last Templar which was a damn good read.
The last 'graphic novel' I read was Tarzan Vs Predator which was a fairly average crossover title. Not as bad a Superman Vs The Terminator, but nowhere near as good as Judge Dredd Vs Predator. what's disturbing is the fact that I'm completely serious though. There's been some crossover comics (Alien Vs Superman and Judge Dredd Vs Predator being the best) that I've found to be surprisingly well done. It's usually when they get a regular writer for the character who is capable of understanding why 2 characters would make a cool match up. Wouldn't mind a forum to talk about some of these, as well as some of the regular books I've read. On a related note. Has anyone actually read the Star Trek The Next Generation Meets The X-Men book? I saw it in a book store one time, but for the life of me I can not imagine how those 2 series are supposed to meet up.

I've been reading a lot of books by Harry Turtledove. Writes alternate history books using real characters. He has a whole series of one that starts with the south wining the civil war going all the way through WII. Really unusal books.

He also has a series of about 6 books of a WII story where the earth is invaded during WII and goes through 1970. Really good scifi.

Cell: Stephen King (did I already mention zombies?) I Hate my Neck: Nora Ephron (yeah, kinda like a sorbet, cleanse the palate) Money Secrets: Dave Barry (back to form) |

Sigmund Freud: The Interpretation of Dreams.
I have a whole bunch of existential stuff lined up next. Some of my shifts are very Kafkaesque. |
