Subject: Outcome of Auction

Today we have achieved a very important milestone in the ongoing transformation of Blockbuster. Early this morning, we successfully completed the 363 auction, and I’m pleased to announce that Dish Network has emerged as the winning bidder for our Company.

The next step in this process is a hearing scheduled no later than April 11th, at which we will ask the court to approve the sale. The closing date for the sale is currently anticipated to be April 21st, but work on a transition plan will begin immediately.

Upon closing, a new chapter of Blockbuster will begin to unfold for each and every one of us. The purchase of Blockbuster by Dish Network is a strategic move that the management teams for both Blockbuster and Dish Network believe will help Blockbuster truly become a leading provider of media entertainment.

More details on the sale will be available within the next couple of days as Dish Network has the opportunity to begin working with, and understanding, each of our channels and support teams.

This is truly an exciting day for Blockbuster. The work and dedication that each and every one of you put forth during our journey in recapitalizing the company was critical in ensuring that we were able to make this sale happen. I look forward to sharing more details on Blockbuster’s new future with you in the coming days.
