Thumbs up Avatar

Go see it guys. It mostly lives up to the hype. Much like Transformers it's a big old CGI fest that cost way too much to make, but unlike Michael Bay, James Cameron is a mature and skilled director, and believe me, that makes all the difference in the world. Do NOT see it in 2D though! 3D is the only way to see it. Trust me, it will blow your mind in 3D. If you have to drive 30 miles to find a theatre that's showing it in 3D, do it!

i saw it yesterday IN 3D and it was beautiful.

it brought nothing new in terms of story and motifs. kind of disappointing and predictable. but then again comfortable and familiar. i've been referring to it as Pocahontas in 3d for the past month.

its all about the beautiful visuals. omg what a piece of eye candy.

oh and the message. anti war in the middle east and anti pollution. those are pretty clear.

hope i didn't spoil anything.

there was one part in the movie that remind me of Call of Duty modern warfare 2!
the dog jumping up and snapping its neck

Saw it. In 3d, as commanded.

IT was pretty. Could have waited for the DVD.

Ribisi is delicious.

And is it just me or does Zoe Saldana not age? Not that you can tell from this film, but it put it in my mind to ask.

lol i actually had this discussion with my coworkers about Saldana and Faison (black guy from scrubs). these two don't seem to have aged at all among the years.

what would happen if those two had kids?

I have a theater about... five minutes away... showing it in 3D. They have some new "4k Digital Projection Real 3D" system... I've heard good things about Avatar ;-)

I keep meaning to go. I don't want to go on New Year's Eve... or New Year's Day. I'll probably go next week.
