Everyone is different, but that's generally a huge red flag. Being able to work through things and compromise is one thing - but it's next to impossible for two people to agree about everything always.

More likely is that they are either great natural communicators and work through disagreements quickly (a massive blessing - I've only witnessed it once in my life), or at least one of them is conflict averse and is a stuffer. Stuffers tend to self dstruct rather spectacularly, though - usually way before the 25 year mark.

This munchkin will be born right around - if not on - our 13th anniversary. And thanks to getting married way earlier than anyone should, we've seen just about everything. Except parenthood, I should say - that's gonna be a whole new bag of worms.

The woman I've been seeing for almost a year, we don't argue at all. We have had serious discussions and haven't always exactly agreed, but it's never been remotely tense. It doesn't mean we don't annoy each other or say the wrong things, but just that we seem to manage those situations very efficiently.

That's a good start. Trust me - strong odds are there will come a time that you seriously piss each other off in a major way. Just remember that the important part is what you do about it / how you handle it - not that you got pissed off at each other.

A lot of decent relationships get wasted when people don't know this - or when they have the expectation that it can only work if they don't fight. Disagreements / arguments that are appropriately worked through (the actual hard part) = learning, growth, and evolution.

Physical violence or abuse of any kind is, of course, the exception.

Now, back to V day. We are getting each other a staggering amount of delivery sushi - because I have suddenly developed the appetite of a 17 year old boy - in preggo friendly varieties, and stopping all work early for a bath bomb from Lush and a nice nap. Great way to spend an evening!

My husband and I compromise pretty well. For us it's about respect. And we know our roles so to speak. We fight. But they are short lived. And most of the time it's because we are flat exhausted and snappy. I think a certain degree of arguing is healthy. Keeps the playing field level.
