Lightbulb TLC: Extreme Couponing series

Given how we've been talking about firings, layoffs, and leaving Big Blue in this forum, this seemed appropriate. These people have been known to spend $6 on several hundred dollars' worth of groceries. While I'm not a fan of going to the "extremes" these folks are, I've been known to make a few deals on my own. 125 boxes of pasta is a little much! 100+ candy bars? WTF?

But...if you're trying to save a buck or two, their "extremes" can make cutting twelve coupons for your next shopping trip seem a little more reasonable. On TLC tonight at 9pm.

Yeah, since it's a series, it will probably end up onDemand.

I am sooo spoiled by On Demand. I almost forget what life was like before I had it.

If you're talking about that somewhat fey fat Southern guy, my guess is that he ate most of the pasta and candy. He said he was buying it in bulk for his church, but he definitely had a creeeepeeey vibe about him. I kept waiting for the TV host to ask him why he had 125 bags of lye and a dozen shovels...

The show was Okay, but it was more a peep show into madness than it was informational.

I really think these people are hoarders ... with the exception of the woman with the 3 month's supply in the garage and the woman who only buys what she needs, the really large woman was totally out of control. I loved when her husband said, "This is utterly ridiculous." He was right.

I loved that the guy bought all that cereal for the food pantry, that is a great thing. I would love to set up something like that for my charity only get the stuff and immediately give it out.

I once bought 20 boxes of hot chocolate for 25 cents each ... I felt like a glutton ... so I called up Mom and gave her plenty to share with the siblings and anyone who needed.
