With technology moving the way it is I would be hesitant to sink any investment in brick-and-mortar stores. They'd be great in the short-term, but as streaming delivery takes hold, it's going to be over for hard media.

Small minded why can't it be paired with a cafe? Or what I'd the area has a grocery sale or where something happens every weekend? Being a mom and pop store can work you provide the ambiance. You don't think of the possibilities you must have conviction and determination. Do you not have this?

Do you think I set up a server and made an application with that mentality? ??

If Jon low honestly wants to do it don't knock him he could become a millionare if he just did it. He has the ability and I would back him with his computer needs. Stuff can work. Don't be so negative

If you want to invest your conviction and determination into a short-term project, I won't stop you. Have fun, and make all the money you can. Just remember to get out before you lose everything. Filling the void left by BBV would be a great idea, if that void weren't doomed to irrelevancy within a relatively small number of years. Think ahead to 2022. Will there be video stores? Will there be movie vending machines? Will there be any way at all of renting hard copies of visual media? I wish the best for existing, established indie shops, but starting new ones at this point just doesn't seem sound.

We have an indy here that does amazingly well. He carries movies games and deli style food. They are in a crappy location and have outlasted all of the other indies.

Buy and sell used, find a niche market, be a consignment/rental store. Whatever works. Think outside the box. AND as the industries changes again change with it. One thing, there are always people willing to sell and buy used.

I offer my experience in opening stores to you. And can give you tips on where to get stuff, etc. In return I ask nothing ... well, maybe an occasional deal on a used game or something.

Much love from Mom
