To keep it on an objective perspective, I have absolutely no problem with PS3. In fact, I agree with Anti-- I do quite enjoy free online that had worked until recently and really does work 98% of the time. I feel die hard Xboxers shouldn't knock it before they try it.
That being said, the reason, and in fact the ONLY reason I was willing to give up the physical copies of my games is because emulation has made them obsolete. You can pour into the legality of it and all that, but when it comes down to it, I've actually owned them all, and owning them gives you a legal right to make a backup copy, just as long as you don't distribute them or make profit from them. You got me if you get to the "you traded them in, therefore you no longer own them, etc, etc, etc" argument, to which I say... um, hey, what's that over there? PS3 Online is great. Other than a two month downtime, it's never done me wrong. The thing is, I know a lot of people. Friends of mine in real life who want to play video games with me. 5% of them own a PS3. The rest own Xbox 360s. It'd be nice to play with them every once in awhile. The exclusives for Xbox360 aren't enough to sway me by themselves, when I quite enjoy the PS3 exclusives quite a bit as well. Infamous, Little Big Planet and 3D Dot Game Heroes, amongst other games, are quite stellar. Ditto the Uncharted series, God of War series... On the Xbox side, I can do without Halo, or Gears of War, but stuff like Left 4 Dead and Fable (any of them) look like a good time. I may not cave and decide fuck it, it's not worth getting rid of an awesome collection, but the friend of mine who originally planted the idea in my head swears by all that is god damn good and holy it was worth it to him, and is trying his god damned hardest to sell me on the same idea, and he almost has me convinced. If anything I've figured if I'm going to go the distance and sell them, I'm going to go the eBay/Amazon route, rather than trade them in at local game shops. Though I get a decent enough price for them (I can get a 360 at least), I saw a guy on eBay who's selling almost the exact same thing I'm selling (give or take some particular games) and his bid is already up to $1,200, with two weeks still remaining in his auction. About $800 more than I'd get from trade in. And again, I don't think I'd have considered it at all if not for emulators...

You know what though? I had a SNES for about 4 years before I stopped playing it, same with the Genesis, and the N64, different lengths of time but only one console for years of play. I've had 4 different 360's thanks to the red ring. They just don't make em like they used too...
