Thats because you have gone to the website 25% less than last year to see if Blockbuster has closed yet, I am sure you will pick your visits back up.

Have you or the writer of the article taken into consideration the fact that a lot of that 25% have been logging into the www.blockbusterathome.com/ site since Dish has taken it over. Sure it doesn't account for the whole 25% but it must account for something.

When I worked for the block, we used the website at the store to look up movies. That might account for part of it. Plus, I have bbo and I use the phone app.

You dont understand namespace resolving if you looked at my earlier posts on thier website which are technical in nature you would know how the site was resolving. So no I can confirm your point doesnt apply. This is just a namespace that would point to the root namespace
Which is www.blockbuster.com

You have to hand it to them -- Dish really must think they're going to be successful with BB to keep operating the remaining stores in the face of nothing but negative reports on BB's performance.

Anybody with a head on their shoulders could have looked at the planned purchase of Blockbuster from DISH and said it would have been an awful move on DISH's part.

What DISH's executives simply didn't get was that the Blockbuster name was already in the toilet several years prior amongst Main Street (every day customers). It is far beyond the point of repair. It wasn't just that the company was badly mismanaged ... but that there is such a negative association with the Blockbuster brand amongst consumers that even the suggestion of a takeover was a ludicrous one.

It was a horrible investment. The brand simply needs to die ... and should have about 5 years ago.

What is so amusing is that Dish thinks that having the BB name/brand as the face of their upcoming wireless venture is going to give them an "in" with customers. Do they really think people are going to say, "Oooooooooh, look, Blockbuster has their own wireless service now -- for some reason there is an incentive to purchase their service instead of Verizon's, Sprint's, or T-Mobile's!"?

The same could be said about radioshack, who offers all those phone services cheaper than the actual corporate stores offer them. I guess you just dont get that no other provider offers a bundle with all cell phone, house phone, internet, and cable in one bill, that is what dish is trying to do.
