Process for store closings?

Just a quick question...The blockbuster by me closed in what seemed like overnight. I rented a game on some kind of a combo pass and within 2 weeks the store was closed. When i was still with the company we knew about two months before hand and let our customers know anywhere from 3-5 weeks before our doors shut, we stopped renting 2 weeks before our last day and the last week was nothing more then a waste of time. None of my stores liquidated so we boxed up all of our product and where out 10 days after the finial day.

So for all the people that have closed stores what is the process currently?

Sounds like that was their "quick close". I've seen stores find out the week of that they would be closing, found out during the week that Sunday of that week they would be closing, lock up Sunday pack up Monday/Tuesday.

Remodeling does not require a store closing, they do it while open.....

I worked at that store for almost 6 months. It was the most profitable stores in the company. In any given week they would sell 700-900 prp units without a 3-20 sale. With a 3-20 triple that number. The att store that is now there is HUGE like its massive ill post some pics later.

There's no process. It's just business as usual until the boxes show up.

When I worked for BBV they told us on July 7th that our store was closing. We stopped renting on July 10th and stopped selling PRP and sell thru on July 13th and was cleaned out of the location by July 18th.
