Halo 3 Limited Edition disks scratched on arrival
If you're selling Halo 3 Limited Edition (that's the '$69.99' one) at your store, you'll probably get customers coming back all pissy because their game is scratched. This is because the Limited Edition box royally sucks, and has been scratching Halo 3 games like crazy. I bet that more than one of you are going to get customers wanting a return of some sort.
To protect you from a $70 exchange/return credit, give them a link to this (or better yet, print some out and pass them to customers who have this issue): http://assets.xbox.com/en-us/support..._orderform.pdf It's from Microsoft's own Xbox homepage. It's the first day that the game is out and they already know there's a widespread scratching problem with the Limited Edition version of Halo 3. All game retailers are going to get headaches from this. No point in not being prepared. Further details on Microsoft's page: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/sy...nt-program.htm

yeah, GS warned us about this while the copies were still being shipped from our warehouse. They tested a bunch of the loose copies, and supposedly of the loose discs, most of them aren't scratched, and of the ones that are, most of those play fine. I can understand customers not want a scratched copy though even if it plays when they just dropped 70 bucks, but it's good to know. still gotta love microsoft's excuse for quality assurance.

We were told at my store at time not to sell limited edition because we wouldnt be getting them. So this wont be a bbv issue. But it could be a good selling point in future.
"HI, get your game here, we dont sell the crappy messed up kind"

Yep. Every single copy you could hear the disc rolling around. Ours are all sealed still, though. I'm sure some geek will demand one that doesn't rattle, but they're in for a disappointment...

just open them up, inspect the disc for damage, then change the case if it's not damaged - then reseal it if you have the shrink-wrapper in your store still.
I do this all the time when we get DVDs that are loose. A lot of them are scratched though so they go right to defect. |
