Destruction for all of us?? LOL
No need to be so over dramatic - we have vicky for that.

Oh, and plagiarizing wikipedia, then copy and pasting it as your own work is just cheap and tacky. I almost felt dirty reading it.

What?? Where on earth did you get this made up description of a lemming?

A Lemming is a small rodent, not a person, they are not suicidal, they are not intent on courses of actions that will lead to the destruction of them all.

Using the term lemming as in the slang for a suicidal person/group is acceptable (albeit a myth) but then attempting to actually providal a factual quote that is in fact totally untrue is just stupid.

Lemming:-

Person:-

I think you may need a new dictionary

It's meant as a metaphor. Do you know what a metaphor is? One does not go to any dictionary when defining a word used as a metaphor.

To actually go so far as to dissect the intending meaning, when most actually know the derivative of the metaphoric usage of the word lemming. Albeit the usage was taken out of context from a Disney movie depicting lemmings committing mass suicide; when in reality they do not; it does not change the historical meaning of the metaphorical usage of lemming and has stuck in the vocabulary of the English language.

......which has been proven by how many responses there have been by the lemm......I mean members of this forum.

Evidenced in that context of fallacy, but certainly not proved. In fact, your theory would suggest a climate of few responses, not many, because after a single reply to you the rest of us would agree with the exact wording of what was posted, in full lemming characteristic. Truly we are all so unlemminglike that everyone needs to get a post in to ensure his particularly distinct opinion on the matter is properly aired.

In any case you seem to regard us all in very low esteem. Frankly when I find myself in company so described, I make my leave in the simple interest of finding more engaging people. Yet you linger still among those you look down upon-- looks like a classic case of social ineptitude.

Yeah mang, I never got that. I understand hanging around for maybe a day, making your grandstand and what have you, but people who stay around after they have decided they are better than everyone there just don't make sense.

If people had bashed me mercilessly here for no reason, I probably would have left. And if I had thought the people here weren't worth my time, the same.

This is a dictionary style definition, see how you used the word "noun" and described the pronunciation followed by the meaning of the word (incorrect meaning but thats not the point).

This sentence doesn't actually end but I know what you meant, my point is you are the one who dissected the word first, I merely corrected you, with cute pictures to help!

So you post a dictionary definition, your first post as seen above, and then after being caught out/proved wrong you claim that you would not go to a dictionary for this......hmm so you managed to contradict yourself on the same page of the thread!

As I said before there was no problem with you using the term lemmings as a metaphor, but you then chose to include a incorrect description of the word. Had you said "you are all lemmings" then that would be fine as it is your opinion, but you chose to be pedantic and attempt to make yourself look clever which went sadly wrong.
