our RDO came in

why do they always come in at the WORST possible time? a Friday during a rush... really?

and then you want to criticize us for standing behind the registers when we're helping customers? FUCK YOU!

to that end, i did a pretty great job staying out of trouble while my SM got yelled at. none of us met her yet so we had no idea of knowing who she was.

our RDO slipped in with a group of customers (who, luckily, i did happen to greet) and creepily watched from a distance. she was standing behind the Queue pretending to look at the items on the other side, but she really sucked at it. on multiple occasions, i made eye contact with her wondering wtf she was up to and she would look away.

i didn't approach her at first because she did not do what customers often do when they would like help... yannow, like come UP to the register. she kept frolicking around so i figured it was nothing, she was probably waiting on someone.

i went into the back room to grab a trash bin and came back out finding her closer to the Queue creepily watching, so i just went for it: i chased her down and said "Don't mean to bother you, but you look like you've got some questions for me."

she reaches out her hand and says, "Hi, I'm _____, the RDO."

oh shit.

she thanks me for greeting and engaging customers and for wearing my name tag (??), and that she's waiting for my SM.

i grab my SM and introduce them. this is where it all started to fall down.

as soon as the RDO entered the store, my SM went into the back to make copies of the "Blockbuster Way" packets we will need for tomorrow's meeting.

so, of course, my SM was accused of hiding in the back room instead of being on the floor. that is not my SM at ALL.

what does watching us like this accomplish? it's a dirty practice and i can't believe any company would pay people to do this at the worst possible moment.

oh and i forgot to note that this RDO we have was previously an LPM. explains it soooo well.

and i'm not sure what was so typical about it. i've had my DM, who we KNEW, stand in the store with us and make note of things as we did them with slower traffic. that i get.

i've even had the DM and RDO come in together, the DM leave, and the RDO take notes and give suggestions. that made sense.

but to have someone we cannot identify to act strange in very heavy traffic and expect us to respond to it?

that's a joke.
