They are keeping Jim Keyes on. Store business is important to Dish. We (employees) work for BLOCKBUSTER, we are a subsidary of Dish...we are Blockbuster employees, not Dish employees (there are 15,000 employees and will all remain employees). Today we are a debt free Blockbuster! applause!

.
And tomorrow Keyes will put BBI in more debt.....

He doesn't have that power. He is only an advisor to the Dish CEO. He has no control over daily operations.

Why in the blue hell would they want Keyes as a damned adviser? Abviously he has very little clue as to what he's doing so who would competantly seek his advice!

So does anyone else wonder why the closing of over 1000 stores wasn't mentioned? I gotta believe one of the main reasons most of the people on the call that werent in that room all have invested interest in that question as it affects all of our jobs. Instead they ask about parking..life insurance policies and what files to take to mckinney? I know that a definite answer couldn't be given...we all do but at least address the concern so that we can loosen the rope around our necks and catch a breath for a moment!

I wondered if it was because of his contract. He gets fired, he gets what - triple his salary? Why not keep him, let that contract fall out (if possible), and then get rid of him.
