ASM/SAM Termination Of Title?

I was wondering if any of you heard anything concerning the killing of this position in the company because now that DISH bought them out they deemed it unnecessary? If so, how is it possible that without warning they can just snatch your job & give you no reason beside removal of position? Wouldn't a demotion or promotion be the next step? Does this not leave them WIDE open to legal issues?

no it's the same as layoffs. They eliminate the position (or downsize) and you are layed off.

This really started before dish became the new owners, my postion was elimated 7 months before the buyout. And so were about 5 other ASM in the area. The only I suggest is check into unemployement laws. Here you can have your hours cut and collect and what you lost. I got 70 weeks of unemployement , nice vaction .........

First- stop with the red please. If your store doesn't make enough revenue to justify (store must be Tier 1) having a ASM or Sales Manager, then they are eliminating those positions. They are either laying them off or demoting them to SL. In my district, we have maybe 2 stores that are Tier 1. It sucks because as a fulltime ASM/Sales Manager you got the gravy vacation -especially if you had time invested and could get decent insurance.

Thumbs up

Yea, I got that idea from the browsing before the question. Somehow still see legal issues in their future. Thanks for the input.

i asked my ASM if he/she knew about this elimination, and they replied that the position was being kept. Time will tell i guess. *shrugs*
