The Lost poobahs wanted 2/24, but ABC talked them into 3/16.

I think the writers wanted to be done this season. then abc ordered up 48 more episodes and the writers were like "oh fuck" i just hope they dont kill it. this show rocks for several reasons.

1.there is nothing else like it right now.
2. definatly full of mystery and philisophical history.
3.its like one giant game of clue. Its need to try to figure out how they are all connect on a personal level (like hurley owns the box company that locke worked for. and sawyer had a drink with jacks dad...ect) also on a spiritual level. how most of the main character have parent issues-Jack and his dad, hurley and his dad, Kate and her stepdad, Jin and Sun with there parents...just little stuff like that.

It cant keep being about the castaways and the others. or it will be 3 more years of jack/kate/sawyer. I wanna know the deep seeded stuff, like why Locke can walk, but ben gets cancer, and why all the women that get pregnant on the island die...(i havent watched this weeks episode yet btw...) Also, how the hell the plane is at the bottom of the ocean, but they are all there....thats the stuff i wanna know.

Well Abrams had always said he envisioned the show to run about 100 episodes, which would be four seasons. So now they've planned a total of five (spread out over six).

As for "there's nothing else like it", there's Heroes, another mythology-driven serial which clearly draws upon Lost for much of its inspiration. Most Lost fans agree the show floundered in the first part of this season (but oh, has it come back), and Heroes picked up the momentum and ran with it. Once the latecomers catch up with Heroes on DVD, I doubt there will be many viewers who watch only one of the shows.

I like lost and I watched a couple of episodes of heros and liked that too, so you are right. Unfortunately I hate watching it at the rate of an hour a week so Im not watching either at the moment and Im going to wait for the boxsets.

Its good to hear that the 3rd series picks up later on because the first few I saw werent nearly as good as the other 2 series.
