Just found out today they are closing 2 stores on my side of town, now if I want to rent I have to go on a 45 minute round trip ride. We used to have 13 stores in this town, now we are down to 2 of a population of 400,000.

So our last day is the 22nd of January. Lmao... when people ask our last day is, we tell them and they look at us and think it's this month lol... um no dumb ass. And their other big question is.... "where you moving to" rotf... we say online... their response "that's not moving." Well duh... but that's what we are supposed to say to you. Should be a fun few weewks.

I'm saddened, but not at ALL surprised by this. Somewhere in the madness is a memo dating back to the BK/Dish buyout with this exact plan. The last 9 months have been nothing but smoke and mirrors-it was business as usual, until it clearly wasn't. The Canada closures were a prelude to how BBI would handle the rest of the US ones. Tell the staff right before the sale, promise to punish anyone who doesn't tow the line, and keep pushing promos. Corporate doesn't care that you're yelled at 50x a day for continuing to sell passes until the last rental day. That's $10 or $20 BBI can make before putting the screws to everyone. All I know is I will be following it for however long it takes until they're all closed.

I'm sorry to all the employees facing unemployment during the holidays. It's not so easy to replace your livelihood in this economy. Even after 6 months, I'm still underemployed! Up here in Canada, we're now competing with Rogers employees who are all losing their jobs in the next 2 weeks too. Good jobs are hard to come by
