D.A. is direct access where if you don't have a movie in stock. You can order online for the customer to rent. It is sent directly to the customers house at a charge of 3.99. I think the have 10 days to return it from date of mailing or their cc will be charge. The store does get to keep the sale though.

BTW, since the prices went up, it's now $5.

And (at least in our area), it's still taking way too long for customers to receive their movies.

Although I understand why they have you pushing DA so hard, I don't get why they would ever want to get rid of their BSI section. Every movie rented in BSI is pure profit and if they get rid of the section, a lot of our Rewards customers will not want to renew their membership.

It's a bit different that that. Your rental period starts on the day your mailer should have "arrived." I don't know the exact dates, but the day is always on the receipt. After that, you have the rental period. I'm not 100% sure how it works with the way everything changed on the 1st though. I'll have to ask my SM.

CNBC just had an interview with Jim Keyes, also posted on their web site. He said that they are "moving into other channels" (read kiosks and digital delivery), and announced the closing of another 1,000 stores. The stock is soaring (up 17% as I write), but thats because shareholders see the short-term overhead savings, not a brilliant long-term plan. Again, do yourselves a favor and leave before they close your store. Having Blockbuster on your resume is already a negative. Just imagine how an interviwer would react to knowing that you just came from a store that was closed while you worked there! It looks like you were part of the reason that the store failed.

But you can easily turn the interview in a big positive because blockbuster made you memorized so many stuff and throw many different terms which you adjusted in short time and perform up to standard. Blockbuster employees are great at multitasking.
