Ok, so I don't want to start my own thread asking for someone to PM me, so I'm just going to do it here. I don't want to out myself, but I have some questions about policies that would out me if someone from my store/area were here. I PMed BBstore482, but I want some other opinions, too. Please no "FUCK BLOCKBUSTER" - it's pretty obvious that's what 98% of us here would like to do. I need some serious help. Thanks

Since they've been ignoring my Global HR "Feedback" since the middle of November (some of it even longer)...
I was talking to some of our new employees about Total Access... since it's still a priority... even though there's no revenue from it so it doesn't help us make the day... and I was telling them about our free employee online account. Obviously, no one else had mentioned it (bc communication is horrible in my stores. One SM didn't even tell the other employees they could wear jeans for employee appreciation. Poor newbs.) So, I went to blockbuster.com/vip on our compass computer... and it just redirected to a normal online sign-up page. Do new employees no longer get a free total access sub? You just had to work here at the right time? That hardly seems fair... (and doesn't quite keep with Rog's current message of having us well versed in Blockbuster's "multi-channel distribution"-mabob.) ---- Other random thoughts while I'm here... *Can you all remind the DMs/RDOs that we're still supposed to be making the day? I'm sure you do, but they don't listen very well. In my district/region(?) we've got a hard push on Tangled, even after the weekend update SPECIFICALLY said it (a) was not a priority and (b) should only be offered if a customer asks. I'm going to have to go in to work tomorrow and fill out an IDP because I didn't sell one. (That and I didn't push total access for reasons stated earlier, and am so sick of bundles. But that's beside the point. "What obstacles prevented you from reaching your goals?" "Our corporate goal is to 'Make the Day.' I/We did that. As such, your 'priorities' are, in fact, not.") *Suggestion: You all should require DMs/RDOs to work a shift in a store once in a while. Once a month? As an incentive for hitting goals or making the day or whatever? It would help morale and keep the field management up on what it's really like in the stores. Plus, how can you help someone with bundle pitches, etc, if you've never actually sold a bundle? Just sayin... *Voice mail for store support? I know there would be a lot of messages to go through, but you're only open during the day during the week, and many of us mainly work nights and weekends. I'd use Global HR, but I tried that and my message was ignored. (Fortunately, it worked itself out.) *Direct Access price scaling? We charge more for games, why should all direct access movies be $4.99? I can understand not charging $.99 for value movie direct access rentals. But maybe $2.99 for non-new releases? (PS: Can you get a free direct access game with a rewards coupon? There are some I want to try, but I don't want to wait 105 days for online, or pay $9 when I could get it for free if we actually carried it in the store.) That's all for now. Thanks for listening.

read my post Pandemonium in Pa..we are being threatened with "consequences and Action Plans" I didn't make my tangled goal so I'm on the "hit list", but I "Make the day every shift"...wait, thats not even mentioned on my action plan about "make the day" just lack of meeting Tangled goal...hmm...I'm starting to feel very bullied at work..
So, 482 if you are REAL why don't you send out a communication in black and white that states the harassment by DM's and SM's must stop? It's old and staffers are sick of it. Is it legal to be constantly harassed? |

I think it is about time we set guidelines for when to close stores in case of bad weather.
Could you possibly get corporate to send out a mass e-mail to everyone that says stores must stay closed if there is a state of emergency issued? Also, that stores are not to reopen until it is lifted. People are forced to get onto terrible road conditions because they have to work or lose their job. This is something that should be simple logic but some DMs don't seem to care. Its a safety issue and Blockbuster should care about it. |
