Did you get the letter??

Rumor has it that DISH network sent out letters to stores welcoming them to their team and that exciting things are to come. However, there were many stores that never received said letter in box office from DISH. Upon checking with my DM, apparently if you did not receive the letter, you are at high risk for being one of the next closing stores.

How old are we, seriously? They're telling stores in letter form or lack thereof what their chances of staying open are.

So...did anyone here receive this letter? It was in Saturdays box office...my store did not receive the letter.

There was another letter after that. My friends store got it on Saturday, it welcomed them to the dish network team and said some other "inspiring" stuff as well.

Nope..didn't get it.

I know my store is on the chopping block. I'm just waiting until they tell us or until they try and surprise us with massive transfers

I have been through three store closings with this company, and I will tell you with each one we did not know until the week before it started selling off inventory. The problem with Dish is they are no going to pay the leases on all but around 575-600 stores. This means we might find out if our store is closed the same way Holywood Video did. Come to work one day and the landlord has padlocked the doors as they will keep the inventory.

I always get letters from Cockbuster letting me know about stock chances and court situations. I always return them with "return to sender" and "Dear Blockbuster, Fuck off "

Invest stock in blockbuster, you would get a bigger return with porn, booze and weed

Once again, Dish is committed to keeping 1500 stores and possibly more. They continue to talk about expansion as well.

I know I am an idiot and I don't know what I am talking about. Feel free to remind me.

My store didn't get any letters from Dish..... maybe we did and our SM decided we weren't worthy of such information...... hence the name I chose for myself (Mushroom Employee)

I've been cut down to one day a week (oh well) and I'm actively looking for another job, but out of curiosity, I'm gonna stick with the one day a week JUST BECAUSE I'M NOSEY....... and I'd miss the hell out of my favorite customers..... and favorite co-workers..... and we all still haven't finished exchanging phone numbers to keep in touch........ and I'm wondering what they'll be doing with the store space when they boot us out of there....... shoes? ...... cell phones? ..... pet store? ....... OH....... how about a used video store..... maybe just tear the whole darn thing down so the other stores can get some more parking space

Bitter much? NO NOT REALLY....... I loved working for Blockbuster, and I'll miss it. But to all good things, there is an end
