Often Misplaced Titles??

so a coworker and i were chatting today and we started to discuss movies that we constantly find misplaced and what customers are possibly thinking when they "change their minds". these are the top 3 we came up with not including any miscellaneous kid movies.

1. Shank. yes, that raunchy looking homosexual movie is the #1 misplaced title at our store. my personal belief is that it's a closeted mindset that makes them carry the movie around before they decide that they aren't ready to make that next step. while i feel sorry for whomever may be going through their internal struggle, i'd really like to know who is doing it just so i can out them myself. don't take your frustrations out on my inventory, pal! but to that point, it's also one of those titles that teenage girls grab because they think it's going to be extremely entertaining and/or funny to watch hot gay guys treat each other like deflatable sex bags.

2. Hard Candy. this has always been one of those titles where customers hear about it from some conversation, find it in store and decide from the look of the case that renting another movie would be better money spent. i always felt that the fact that the cover art looked alike that of a cheesy horror movie was a contributing factor. my coworker brought up the very valid point that it's the prime of controversial teen films like Thirteen and Towelhead that teenagers primarily pursue but eventually decide to stick with a couple of cheesy horror movies. go figure.

3. School for Scoundrels. ????

please do share!

Well not because of customers...but For Queen and Country always ends up in the Q section rather than F....

I also work with a lot of old people and they always put stuff like Family Guy and Queer Duck in the family section...sighh

Evil Bong 1 and 2, These are the most misplaced and according to a old inventory coordinator the most stolen.

Hmmm...makes sense to me.

Once, I found the both the Obama movie and W. side by side in the horror section.

I left them there.

Yeah, our Christian customers would try to censor our shelves by turning anything gay, sexually explicit, or horror backward. Entire sections of the new release wall would be turned around.
