Idiotic sales advice

has anybody else been getting stupid advice from their DMS or SMs for the TA push as of late? During my shift yesterday, I recieved several nuggets of joy:

DM: Now I know you guys have been struggling in halo presales, you have a gamestop closeby right?

Me: Yep, it's right across the street

DM: Well just act as if it isn't there, and make sure you ask EVERY customer!

Yes, let's just ignore the competition! Isn't that how redbox and netflix got ahead of us?

DM: Now, the good news is that your in the top 3rd of the district in TA (we have a whopping 4), the bad news is your nowhere by what you should have

Me: It's been a slow week, but we've been handing out flyers and talking it up plenty. (it's called the first week of school)

DM: well, i want you to know that corp. is allowing us to sign up any new customer for TA, anybody who signs up for a membership should be getting it since they get a free rental anyways.

Because anyone who is just now starting to rent DVDs will have a true desire to do an online by mail program too. I mean, it can't hurt to ask, but your an idiot if you expect the 10 new signups a week to all want TA


After hitting all my sales goals (while working only weekday mornings)...

ASM: well that's helped, but our store is still nowhere near our goals

Me: why don't you coach the night shifts? (who have HALF my sales)

ASM: Well I just hoped that you could go above and beyond!

Combine these with a toner spill all over the front, it made for quite the day at work.

I want to go with retards because they have college training (especially the DM.)

Sorry for your bad day. Desperation moves really don't work, but then they never listened to anyone on that ...

If a long time ago they would have just rewarded, and continued to reward sales with even anything ... even with just a free jean day or a trinket or whatever they would be farther ahead ... but hey, instead of rewarding the people on the floor who are making the money the reward the asshats who have no idea how to run the company ...

Take a note from pet training ... rewards work. Punishment doesn't.

Yeah, Non of our sales are not enough for them. They want more and more. THEY SOUND LIKE A METH/DRUG ADDICT. All they want is more more more and don't care about you. The ASM and SM are the ones that slack off when they get the hours and the CSR don't. WTF is with this company sometimes. CSR can't do this alone. Where is the team work?

Bankruptcy I'm sure will have a negative effect on your relentless sales goals. Will people sign up for whatever if BBV is in Chapter 11?

I know right? Good luck selling overpriced rewards when the average person is justifiably convinced Blockbuster won't be around much longer.

True! This will knock out Rewards, presales and maybe a little of passes/ onlines TA. Yet bundles will be the biggest target and they will blow out minds out again lol. But bundles are pretty easy. It all depends on how many you sold last week.
