After Blockbuster...what are you doing now?
I see there are some folks like me who pop in from time to time to witness the train-wreck that has become of Blockbuster even though they aren't there any longer.
Just out of curiosity...if you've left, what are you doing now? As for me, I left about 2 1/2 years ago. Was unemployed for a bit and now work for a large research university in admissions. Love what I do. No nights, weekends, or holidays.

My store closed about a year ago, and after a stint of unemployment, I work retail part time. I plan on going back to school, but bills piled up and I was unable to find a full time job - so I went back to BBV to get some money.

so well see for me still there selling dish because thats our job now. hmm let me see if my store were to close i may hop over to the 1 last store left or stay with dish possibly different dept. if that dont happen then something will turn up lol.

Got termed 2 1/2 years ago, landed a job with a major retail outlet with excelnet pay but but 2 weeks before my work my knee blew out....need surgery but can't afford it , so I retired and have disability.....

Disability for me. I was born with a walking disability, and in the past year it's become too much. Now I can't even walk more than a minute. I will give Blockbuster credit- they allowed me to work there while sitting in a chair.

Management position at a bank making 3 times what I made at the Block. Them shutting us down was the best thing that could have happened for me.

I got a job a week after I got fired with a cigar company. Make a lot more now and get a weekly check and no fucking phone calls at home. Oh Yeah!

After leaving my store that closed, I became a Media Consultant and in September I start my work at a Public Relations firm, I am very happily married and we are looking forward to starting a family next year. Life after Blue is much brighter and better.
