It's just tough to say what the range of annual pay is, since we're hourly. It really does depend on how many hours we work in each day and week.

Right now the range in my district is $16 - $20 an hour, with the majority under $19. They got rid of a bunch of tenured SMs who were making more and got some young punks that work for peanuts.

I'm glad I'm not a SM! New news from corporate.

New BYOB p.o.p.:

Stores need some direction on how to use the plastic bags for grab to go gifts. Popcorn tubs make a great base for the gifts.
  • The expectation sent on Monday was that every store would be 5 hours under demand. Ensure your stores are on track.
  • The hours worked by a SM can be directly correlated to the sales results in a store. There should be no more SM PTO scheduled for the rest of the year

Every year at this time I always see them cut hours when you need them the most.
God forbid you if you get sick and need a PTO day..............I know once I was screwed on that one.

I remember the same type of thing last year. This is one of the busiest times of year but hey lets be 5 hours under demand... woo hoo.

I get sick of the "be 5 hours under demand" shit because it's stupid. Just give us fewer hours and tell us to meet demand! Don't give us hours AND THEN TELL US NOT TO USE THEM. How hard is it to give stores ONLY the hours you want us to use? Jesus H. Macy!

Also, who the fuck doesn't know how to use a gift wrap bag? If you can't figure out gift wrapping, how can you be expected to operate a store?

You guys better have your bluray retail close to your front counter so you can watch it. I'm not sure why blockbuster is doing this. People have in the past argue that people most likely buy the product if its not in a blue lock.

"ALL STORES will be out of Blue Locks on all retail and rental product. This is the rule.
  • This project will be completed by December 21st. Most stores will be out before this Friday.
  • No extra labor will be given to this project. It will have to be absorbed

I always hated that argument! My staff always sold better when I wasn't hovering over them all the time. Funny how setting expectations and then trusting your employees to do the job actually worked better than treating them like 3 year olds by asking them to give you numbers every half hour!
