First Experience
Well as always I read alot of negetive stories about customers and how stupid they can be.
As we all know, alot of times there are ass hole customers and nice ones. I want to hear some stories of those nice customers particularly, the first ones you ever got that made you actually enjoy being employed at BB, or being in customer service. To start: The first day for me on the job I was running movies and a couple were looking for something to watch. I ask if they needed any help, and they wanted a reccommendation for a good movie, funny thing was the boyfriend said as a joke "Hey your new here right so should we trust you?" I laughed and told them if they didn't like the movie I would give them a free rental that I paid for out of my pocket, but still I assured them they would enjoy the movie. A couple days after they came back in handed me the movie and told me "Thank you the movie was amazing, we'll take your word for it more often." Now you might be thinking, "well that happens all the time you reccommend a movie they like it come back and say thanks" What really made that particular situation special, was that ever since then, they always asked me about everything, they really trusted me, and even when that store closed they followed me to the new one. So there's my story where's yours? |

I've posted my story before. In another thread. I could dig it up.
I searched through my last 500 posts. It wasn't there. God dammit ;-( Last edited by igniteice; June 30th, 2010 at 07:49 PM. |

my good customer experiences were always pretty girls and flirting and such.

it's sad to say that only very few of our best customers have stayed with us. most of them have been scared away =(
but yeah, i have several customers who i have that trust-all relationship with. most of them are on the pass now so they pretty much watch anything anyway. |

reminds me of another situation. Was in Harris Teeter tonight to get some lamb and other meat. They are fresh out but I notice this stock boy coming from the back of the meat counter. All the counters are closed and yet he comes to offere help
Him: " Hey can I help you find anything" Me:" Yea I was wondering if you got any lamb Him: "Not sure let me go and check the back This guy is not part of the meat department and yet he goes out of his way to check he starts to come back Him:" Nope we are all out, sorry about that, " Me:" Figured its all good man thanx" BBI maybe instead of trying to scare away customers with your bullshit sale goals try make the remaing workers do what this guy did and REWARD them for it. This is why I keep going back to Harris, and will die before I step foot in another BBI store. Think about it might help you out of your funk honestly i doubt it cause your heads are too big and think every customers need to be on rewards, movie pass, online , have 5 preorders and full of bundles. And that every worker needs to sell like fire. past customers varies minus the assholes. I had a woman come in one time and asked me if she can post fliers on our windows. Her family lost 2 puppies. Well policy states we cant put non company signs on the windows. I of course let her do it, and a few weeks later I received a call from the same woman saying her pups were found and return. She gave me her thanks and said she never forgets those that help her. Now if DM's or RDO came in and saw those signs, they would have my head on a spit, but here is a fun fact. Act nice and human from time to time, and the rewards will come back to you Another woman was nortorious for being a bitch. Very old and bitter, no one would serve her so I had to do it. Had a restocking fee on her account and that unleashed hell. Normally I wouldnt credit the accounts but decided just to do it. It shut up her up and changed her mentally. Next time in she was talking to me, and found out I spoke german. Always asked for a good movie. Funny thing one time we had our idiot DM in the store to help promote onlines. I was talking with the woman and the DM comes up and interrupts us to sell onlines. She looks him then me and askes me in german "Whose this asshole?" I laughed and just said "smile and say no thank you" Even an 80 year old woman is saying you guys are assholes. That has to tell your current business plan. There's an elderly lady who has been renting with us forever. Every Christmas, she brings in a plate of homemade cookies... well, just because. I asked her adopt me.

I had a customer give me a $5 for finding a movie I even said "no you don't have to, finding movies is my job" he would not take it back. I have customers give me gift cards that had a dollar or two left on it and a few customers bought me a soda.

When I subbed at the Blockbuster on St. Simons, a lady bought me a pack of M&M's on one particularly bad day. She was nice.

My first experience? It felt great, was brief and a little awkward for an hour or so...
Oh, wait, what were we talking about again?
