2 years ago we had 5 inches of snow (a record) And we only closed for a half day. Although the last hurricane we were closed 4 days, no power and you couldn't get to the store because of the Nation Guard food distribution across the street. And for a week after we closed at 5pm due to curfew.

Well we closed at 8pm last night... it took us 2 hours after that to finally get out of there... and we weren't able to touch the drop boxes all day with four of us for the most part.

It was as busy as I have ever seen a blockbuster in 4 years of working there... we made $11,000 compared to the $3-4,000 we usually make on a friday... we were closed today though.

If anything, you stay open LATE during a snowstorm, so you have enough time to handle the deluge of customers.
Same goes here for Buffalo and surrounding suburbs. 24" of snow means really kewl snowball fights

We've had permission before to open late if we had to. We put a sign on the door the night before that the store may open late due to the weather. But the roads weren't as bad as we thought so we did open on time. And we got permission to deposit at mid-day also. I think if you get approval the night before that is better than doing something against normal procedure & thinking no one will care.

We just got raped by a snow storm. I wonder if my old store was force to stay open. I honestly hope not but knowing the current DM it wouldnt suprise. Gee to look out for your workers safety, what a concept. Close the store for a day, no sensible person would go out in 2 feet of snow for a movie.

This is Blockbuster.

We don't do "sensible".
