There was a Dilbert comic strip not too long ago (can't remember the exact date), where the employees go up to the pointy haired boss and give him an envelope.
"Here," Dilbert says, "we pooled our bonus checks together and got you something for Christmas."
The boss opens the envelope.
"Hey, it's empty," he says.
With a look of deep sympathy, the employees say, "Better luck next year."

What do we need raises for? Blockbuster obviously that needs dime an hour more than we do.
