Not to sound...cruel, but considering you're very well aware of the impending fate of your company, and you're not looking elsewhere, you're doing harm to yourself...I would be dealing with that first. If you're an SL you're effectively a shoe in for the CSM (Customer Service Manager) for a bank.

nobody knows the fate of the company, in financial turmoil sure, but nobody knows if its going to close completely, and of course my resume is out there, im looking to open my own business.

The business model is stale, and antiquated. Do you see TV repair men anymore? Why not? Nobody repairs TVs, they are "expendable" now, they are replaced. It's a stale business model, sure there are SOME people who will repair their TVs, but since it's 300 dollars to get a brand new one, I'd just get a new one!

Unfortunately Blockbuster didn't keep up with the times, they are playing catchup, and with this economy, you stay cutting edge or you fail. Playing catchup and following another business model doesn't work in an economy like this, being new and different, and making yourself better in the first place does.

You're right, nobody knows the fate of the company, but ask yourself this: Do you expect to walk down the street in 10 years and see a Blockbuster store? Because to be real honest, I don't.

We are on the same page about that.

I know, I am as critical of this company as anyone. But it's not because I am rooting for them to fold and for the workers to get tossed. Quite the opposite. This job doesn't mean a whole lot to me... if the doors closed tomorrow, I'd survive just fine. But for some of the people I work with, it would be a big deal. And you know what? I really care about these people. So when I start pointing at the corporate idiocy that I see, it's because I don't want the company to fail.

Not because of any misplaced sense of loyalty, not because I believe in Keyes. If you add up both of those and weighed them, you'd find that their combined weights totalled less than one rat's ass.
No, I just don't want to see people I like get laid off.

As for leaving of their own accord... well that's another story.
